"Beginning of a Joyful Life"

The Staff and Instructors of JL Taekwondo hope to find you well. We want to remind you that based on the guidelines that Governor Cooper has outlined for Phase 2, JL Taekwondo Academy remains closed until further notice by the Governor. Phase 2 is expected to run through at least until

mid-September, unless changed or canceled. According to the state’s overall key COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic indicators, the continued increases in daily cases signals a need to take a more modest step forward in Phase 2 than originally envisioned. Even as some businesses are permitted to reopen, we intend to take every precaution we can to ensure the safety of all students and staff and continue to follow the restrictions outlined in Phase 2.  In the meantime, JL Taekwondo Academy have already put in place precautionary measures in preparation when these restrictions are lifted.

Covid-19 safety measures:

  • Air filtration and purifier system
  • Hand sanitizers
  • Face protection
  • 12-foot training zone
  • Professional cleaning every evening
  • Continuous spot cleaning
  • Spray aerosol sanitizer and virucidal

Currently all indicators suggest upwards trends will continue; however, we will monitor and send an everyone notification when we can resume and start scheduling Taekwondo classes.  Depending on when we can restart classes, we expect to continue follow the restrictions and guidelines outline by the Governor of North Carolina

Assuming that the State of North Carolina will move to Phase 3 mid-September, will be modifying the scheduling and conduct of Taekwondo classes that reflects Phases 3 guidance.  Each class will be restricted by the number of students.  This will require every student and their parents to meet directly with Grandmaster Yoon to preregister and reserve a spot to attend 2 scheduled classes each week.   The class size will be restricted 10 students holding a reserved training spot on the schedule.   When classes resume, each student will have designated training zone providing enhance social distancing.

Prior to each class, every student will be required to wear face masks and have their temperature checked by a staff member before entering the JL Taekwondo facility.  We encourage each student to come on time; however, please do not attend classes if you show any symptoms as outline by NC DHHS.  Only registered students will be allowed inside JL Taekwondo facilities.  Further precautions and rules will be addressed when training  with Grandmaster Yoon during each scheduled class.  Most importantly, always know your Three Ws.

We understand that these rules may seem as an inconvenience, however, they are necessary for the safety of everyone during these uncertain times. We certainly appreciated your support and we will continue to keep everyone updated on any important information and news of our eventual reopening.  For those who are paying month-to-month, you will not be billed for the month of June and depending on the type of membership program, tuition agreements will be deferred until further noticed.

Remember, it is necessary to have an in-person meeting with Grandmaster Yoon at your most convenience.  For further questions or concerns, we will be available to meet in person from Monday through Friday.
